Private Full-Day Krka Waterfalls Tour with Wine Tasting
What to expect
This full-day tour is something that everyone should experience in life, not only because of the green piece of paradise we take you to but also because of the great atmosphere that our guides try to convey to every guest who goes with us on the trip. The trip starts from Split where accompanied by our guide, you head towards an air-conditioned and comfortable bus that will meet all your needs. While driving to the national park, the guide gives you all the instructions for the trip and about the historical, interesting facts regarding the places you pass on the way to the park.
Krka is the seventh national park in Croatia known for its large number of lakes and waterfalls. It is named after the river Krka which is part of the park. The national park is located in central Dalmatia, 90 km away from Split. It covers the area along the river Krka, which springs at the foot of the highest mountain in Croatia, the Dinara, and flows through a 75 km long canyon.
Its beauty is a natural karst phenomenon, which is recommended to visit in spring and summer because then it is in full glory, and you can refresh yourself in clean water.
The Jaruga hydroelectric power plant below the Skradinski buk (biggest waterfall) is the second oldest hydroelectric power plant in the world and the first in Europe. It was built in 1895, just three days after the world’s first hydroelectric plant at Niagara Falls.
While walking around the park you can visit a beautiful eco-village that offers a real insight into the history as it once was. A blacksmith shop, souvenir shop, and museum are just some of the attractions that this village offers.
After spending time in the park and enjoying nature, accompanied by a guide, you set off for Skradin by boat. A boat ride through the canyon really gives a beautiful view of nature and arrival in Skradin, one of the oldest towns on the coast. Skradin is a place where the river Krka and the sea mix, and this town was one of the main military centres of the region. From Skradin, accompanied by a guide, you will leave to the winery which is located in a small village, only 3 kilometers away from Skradin. The winery is authentic in every way and that is why we want you not only to taste our traditional wines but also to feel like you are one of us, to feel Dalmatian. You must know that wine tasting on this tour is the highlight of the day and you will find out the reason when you come on our tour.
