Blue cave & 5 islands tour
11 hours (approx.)
Up to 12 hours in advance
One of the most wanted adventures in Split and Dalmatia is the Blue cave and the five island tour. This tour is so popular because it gives you a chance to see the most famous destinations of Central Dalmatian islands, and all in one day.
A small group of people gathers in front of our agency (Hrvojeva 10, Split) and the guide takes you to the boat. You travel in a speed boat with comfortable and safe seats that fit a maximum of 12 people. The first stop of the tour is the Blue Cave. It is a unique wonder of nature. Its name already describes it perfectly, one of a kind place in the world. Widely known for its crystal blue water, the Blue Cave attracts a large number of tourists and local people each day during the summer. It is located on the small island of Biševo. The cave was originally accessible only by diving as there was only one natural entrance below the sea level. An artificial entrance large enough for small boats was built in 1884. We prefer going there in the morning to secure the chance of entering the cave considering the fact that sometimes it can be closed due to sea rise. The entrance gets blocked and it is impossible to access it by boat. Because of the large number of people that want to see it we need to wait our turn to enter. Do not worry, we do all the waiting for you while you relax on the beach. Once it is our turn to enter, we go in with a small wooden boat and enter the cave. Depending on the season, the ideal moment to visit the cave is between 11 and 12 am. At this time of day, the sunlight reflects through the water coming from the white floor of the cave and bathes the grotto in aquamarine light, while objects in the water appear to be silver.
After the Blue Cave sightseeing, we continue our cruise along the southeast side of the island of Vis to visit the Stiniva beach and stop by the island of Budikovac. The Stiniva beach is our second stop. It was voted as one of most interesting and beautiful beaches in Europe. After about an hour in the Stiniva, we go to the island of Budikovac for some swimming and snorkeling. Budikovac island is one of many surrounding Vis, uninhabited but charming with its beach bar and splendid swimming location. And our third stop. If you do not prefer swimming, you can always choose to have a drink in a local beach bar.
The next stop of the tour is the island of Hvar and the Pakleni islands. The Pakleni islands are actually a set of islands located in front of Hvar, famous for its beauty and amazing gastro offer. There you can find some of the best seafood restaurants like Laganini and Toto’s or popular beach clubs like Carpe Diem Beach Club in Stipanska bay. And yes, we just cannot go over it: the actual correct name of this set of islands is PAKLENI islands. It was named after Paklina, a black resin characteristic for the type of pines growing on the islands. You get 1 hours of free time on Palmižana island.
The last stop on our tour is the island of Hvar. It needs no introduction given the fact that it is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world. You will have 2 hours of free time in the town of Hvar, more than enough time to have a meal there. Also, our skipper will pay attention for you to have enough free time both for sightseeing and having lunch/dinner in the town of Hvar. When it comes to sightseeing, we can point out a few locations not to miss: the Fortress on top of the hill above the town of Hvar, the Main Square, St. Stephen’s cathedral…
Hvar is the last stop of the tour but on your way back to Split you will have the chance to experience one of the most beautiful sunsets. The perfect ending to a perfect day.
